Leaving Namche, you will head towards Dhole and then trek to Machhermo. From Machhermo you will head to the main destination which is Gokyo and acclimatize for a day in Gokyo. You will descend the trail through Lundeng. After spending a night in Lundeng, you will trek back to Namche Bazaar. From Namche is our last day of the trek to Lukla. Finally, you will return back to Kathmandu with a scenic flight from Lukla.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Maximum Altitude: 1,350m/4,428 ft.

Meals: Dinner

Our representative will welcome you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and drive you to the hotel. You will be staying at a luxurious hotel in Kathmandu. After getting fresh, you can just roam around the nearby places and try some local authentic foods.

In the evening, we will be organizing you a welcome dinner that includes delicious Nepali cuisine. Overnight stay in the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and preparation for trek

Trip duration: A whole day (Around 9 hours)

Maximum Altitude: Kathmandu (1350m/4428ft)

Meals: Breakfast

We will take a day to enjoy and explore the sites of Kathmandu valley. There are unlimited places to visit in Kathmandu which is not possible to capture in a day so we will visit a few UNESCO heritage sites. After having breakfast, we will give a holy start to the day by visiting Pashupatinath Temple. Then we will go to Boudhanath Stupa which is an important site of Buddhist people.

We can spend the evening in Basantapur Durbar Square (Kathmandu Durbar Square). This area is quite lively during the night. Then you can return to the hotel and we will have some explanations about the trekking routes with you.

Day 3: Flight to Lukla (2800m) and Trek to Monjo (2830m)

Flight duration: Kathmandu to Lukla (25- minutes flights)

Trek Duration: (Lukla to Monjo 6 hrs.)

Maximum Altitude: Lukla (2800m/9,184ft)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

The journey begins with a thrilling flight to Lukla Airport. Flying above, you can get a spectacular aerial view of mountains, landscapes, and the entire region. After landing at the Lukla Airport, our guides and porters will join us. We will commence our trek and head towards Monjo.

The routes are clear and go along the steps. You will pass through Buddhist monuments and amazing views of mountains. You will cross the suspension bridge and walk a few hours and finally reach Monjo. Monjo has Phakding to its north and Jorsale to its south. Overnight stay in a lodge in Monjo.

Day 04: Trek from Monjo to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Kilometers: Monjo – Namche (5km)

Trek duration: 4 to 5 hours.

Maximum Altitude:  Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We will have breakfast and make our way to Namche Bazaar. The paths are full of scenic mountain and valley views. It is the day when we hike below the tree line. We will have to trek for 4 to 5 hours to reach Namche Bazaar. Crossing various suspension bridges, we will reach Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar being a trade area has a lot of facilities to offer. You can relax with good food, drinks, and the view in the evening. Overnight stay in a hotel in Namche.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Namche

Maximum Altitude:  Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

We will take a day to acclimatize in Namche. Firstly, we will hike to Everest View Hotel early in the morning. It is a short hike that takes you to one of the highest altitude hotels in the world. You will enjoy a delicious breakfast here with a breath-taking view of Mt. Everest and other ranges. Then, we will explore Khumjung village which is the largest village in the Khumbu region.

You can also visit the ancient monastery of the village. Then you explore the nearby places in the evening. Overnight stay in the hotel in Namche.

Day 6: Trek from Namche to Tengboche

Kilometers: Namche – Dhole (11.5km)

Trip duration: 5-6 hours

Maximum Altitude: Dhole (4200m/ 133779ft)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After having breakfast, we will continue our trek and head towards Dhole. The trek duration will be 5 to 6 hours. We will be strolling above Dudh Koshi River and crossing the suspension bridge. Our trek continues along with the beautiful mountain views which include Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse.

You will also be able to see the small Sherpa civilization and old monasteries. Finally, we will reach Dhole. Overnight stay in Dhole.

Day 7: Trek from Dhole to Machhermo (4470m)

Kilometers: Dhole – Machhermo (5.5 km)

Trip duration: 4 -5 Hours

Maximum Altitude: Machhermo (4470m/ 14460.50ft)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Leaving Dhole, the trail heads towards Machhermo. You will trek down from the campsite over the stream. Then you will cross a small ridge and step up to the valley. We will have a pleasant walk through the oak and pine forest. You can see yaks on the way. The trail is not too hard in this part, but getting to the snowy part can be a bit difficult.

Finally, we will get to the hotel for the night after reaching Machhermo. You can spend walking the around places in the evening.

Day 8: Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4790m)

Kilometers: Machhermo – Gokyo (6.8km)

Trek duration: 5-6 hours

Maximum Altitude: Gokyo (4790m/ 15715.22ft)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Leaving Machhermo, the trail directs towards our main destination – Gokyo. The trail passes through rocky paths and amazing sceneries. You will get to view Mt. Lhotse, Maklu, and Cho Oyu throughout the journey. Along with that, you will see the fascinating Ngozumpa Glacier, ancient monasteries, and Gokyo Lake. Gokyo is the ancient Sherpa settlement.

We go through the riverbank before starting our ascent to the Ngazumpa glacier’s terminal moraine, where we will commence our ascent towards the first lake. Then, the trail goes the hill to the second lake view, and secondly, we will arrive at Gokyo on the edge of the third lake after an hour’s walk. Overnight stay in Gokyo.

Day 9:Acclimatizing and Early Morning explore Gokyo-Ri for Sunrise view (5337m)

Kilometers: Gokyo – Gokyo Ri (4 km)

Trip duration: 2-3 hours

Maximum Altitude: Gokyo Ri (5360m/ 17585.30)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today is a bit strenuous trek day as we will trek to Gokyo Ri.  We will climb straight uphill to the Rocky Mountains. The paths are rough and consist of hard rocks and huge boulders. The strenuous trek rewards you with a beautiful view of Gokyo Lake and valley along with mountain views.

You can explore the Gokyo village or you can also trek to the 5th Gokyo Lake. Then you will return back to Gokyo for the night.

Day 10: Trek from Gokyo to Lundeng (4380m) via Renjo La Pass

Kilometers: Gokyo to Lundeng ( km)

Trip duration: 7 Hours

Maximum Altitude: Renjo La Pass (5435m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today we will be crossing another major destination of the trek that is Renjo La Pass. Leaving Gokyo, we will hike towards the northern valley passing through rough landscapes. Our trail passes through harsh terrains and steep mountains. Climbing the steep paths, you will reach Renjo La Pass (5435m). The point gives you a magnificent view of the valley, terrains, and mountains.

Then, you will climb down from Renjo La Pass. The route passes through beautiful grasslands along with Bhote Koshi Valley. Finally, after a few hours of walking, you will reach Lundeng. Overnight stay in Lundeng.

Day 11:Trek from Lundeng to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Kilometers: Lundeng – Namche (6 km)

Trek duration: 5 hours.

Maximum Altitude: Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After having breakfast, we will leave Lundeng. The trail descends to Lundeng giving a farewell to Gokyo valley. Leaving the tree lines and mountains behind, we will get back to Namche Bazaar. After reaching Namche, you can either rest or explore the remaining places of the village. Overnight stay in the hotel in Namche Bazaar.

Day 12: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

Kilometers: Namche – Lukla (13.5 km)

Trek duration: 4 to 5 hours.

Maximum Altitude:  Lukla (2840m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today is the last trek of our journey. We will have breakfast in Namche then head towards Lukla. We will be saying bye to the beautiful journey. We will trek to Namche via Monjo. We will be following the same route as before. After reaching Lukla we will get to the lodge and spend our night sharing the entire experience of the trek

Day 13: Flight back to Kathmandu

Kilometers: Lukla – Kathmandu (130- 140 km)

Flight Duration: 20-minutes

Maximum Altitude: Kathmandu (1350m/4428ft)

Meals: Dinner

Finally, the journey ends here at Lukla. We will have a morning flight to Kathmandu. The flight offers you great scenic aerial views of mountain ranges and the entire valley. After landing in Kathmandu, we will transfer you to the hotel. You can rest in your leisure time or go shopping.

Overnight stay in the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Final Departure

Yes, the local shops and guest houses sell the mineral water in this region. But the prices of water bottles are high in this area due to the geographical location and high transportation costs.

You can avoid altitude sickness during the trek by drinking plenty of water, getting slow walks, avoiding smoking and drinking, having a healthy diet, etc. a healthy body can definitely digest the altitude sickness so keep yourself fit.
