Manaslu Bhimthang Trek is considered one of the shortest and less challenging trekking destinations that indulge you in nature.

The Manaslu Bhimthang Trek is truly a paradise that comprises several beautiful sites. You will get to see the junction of the Kechakyu, Ponkar, and Suti glaciers. As well as lakes like Ponkar Lake, Nayamlo Tal, etc. you will love the hospitable environment of the place. Since the area is surrounded by mountains, you will see the mountains peaks often. The route of this trek consists of various waterfalls, rivers, green hills, etc.

The trail passes through various pine and oak forests. The altitude does not raise much so it won’t be a difficult trek. Since the trekking days are not too long, it will be a short trek. People with tight schedules can also select this trek. Bhimthang was also the salt trading area of Nepal. It is the part of Manaslu Trekking Route. You will also get to visit gompas and a cave during the trek.

The Manaslu Bhimthang Trek begins with a drive to Chame via Besisahar. Then the next day is the official beginning of the out trek, we will trek to Dharapani. After Dharapani, our next destination is Gho. After we spend a night in Gho then we will continue the trek to Bhimthang which is the main part of our trek. We will spend an entire day acclimatizing Bhimthang. There we can hike to various glaciers, viewpoints, and lakes. Then we will descend to Besisahar via Dharapani. Finally, drive back to Kathmandu.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

You are welcome to Nepal.

As soon as you arrive at the TIA, you can see our representative waiting for you. He will help you get to the destined hotel. After getting to the hotel, you can get a shower and rest. If you are not exhausted, you can roam in the nearby places to explore.

As a welcome to Nepal, we will be organizing a Nepali style dinner in the evening. Overnight stay in the hotel of Kathmandu.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and preparation for trek

Duration: 7 to 8 hours

Today is your second day in Nepal, so we will give you a fresh start with sightseeing some of the popular places of the Kathmandu valley. We will visit various historical and cultural sites of the valley like: Pashupatinath Temples, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

After sightseeing all the beautiful and rich sites, we will also enjoy some local cuisines of the valley. Then we will return back to the hotel and prepare all the stuffs for the trek. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive to Besisahar (825m), same day drive to Chame (1430m)

Kilometers: Kathmandu to Besisahar (175.8 km) Besisahar to Chame (65.7 km)

Drive Duration: 6 hours and 4 hours

Maximum Altitude: Chame (1430m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After an early morning breakfast, we will commence our journey. We will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the bus park. First, we will be driving to Besisahar with beautiful scenery along the ride. You can see the green hills, mountains, small villages, and river flowing along.

After reaching Besisahar, we will use another small vehicle like jeep and drive to Chame. The road condition is not so good but beautiful sceneries along the way make it easier. Chame is the point where we start our trek. Overnight stay in Chame.

Day 04: Trek from Chame to Dharapani (1860m)

Kilometers: (15.7 km)

Trek Duration: 5 to 6 hours.

Maximum Altitude: Dharapani (1860m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After having an early morning breakfast, we will begin our trek from Chame and head towards Dharapani. The area is flat and we will have to walk uphill through a dense forest. The entire trek will be beautiful as there are splendid views of green hills and mountains. We will pass through beautiful small traditional villages.

Finally 6 hours of trek will take us to Dharapani. Overnight stay in Dharapani. You can see the nearby places in the evening.

Day 5: Trek from Dharapani to Gho (2560m)

Kilometers: (11 km)

Trek Duration: 4 to 5 hours.

Maximum Altitude: Gho (2560m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After having breakfast, we will leave Dharapani and head towards Gho. At first we will have to register the permits at the checkpoint. Then we will cross the bridge over Marsyangdi River and follow the Dhudh Khola. The trail follows the wider path until Tilije. Walking 30 minutes west from Tilije is a Pyankane Cave which has religious importance. You will also find a Gompa towards the east of Thonche village.

The trail continues by the river bank and passes through the pine and oak forest. You will also pass through beautiful Gurung village. Overnight stay in Gho.

Day 6: Trek from Gho to Bhimthang (3720m)

Kilometers: (9 km)

Trek Duration: 5 hours.

Maximum Altitude: Bhimthang (3720m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Leaving Gho, our journey continues to Bhimthang which is the main destination of the trek. The trail goes through the splendid sub-tropical forest and small settlements. You will mainly see cow, yaks, and sheep on the way. Walking in this route will give you the first glimpse of Mt. Manaslu. Moving ahead, we will cross the bridge and reach Yak Kharka and have lunch.

After that, we will continue the trek which gets steeper as we go further. Finally, we will reach Bhimthang. Tonight we will stay in Bhimthang.

Day 7: Explore Bhimthang

Maximum Altitude: Bhimthang (3720m)

We will take an entire day to explore Bhimthang. Before starting the exploring, we will have our breakfast. Then we will hike to some of the beautiful sites of this area. This small area is surrounded by mountains and looks beautiful. You can see various lakes and glaciers here like Ponkar Lake, Nayamlo Tal, Ponkar Glacier, Kechakyu, and Suit Glacier. At first, we will visit Ponkar Lake where you will see the views of Lamjung Himal (7126m), Choe Himal (6812m), Larkya Pak (6249m), Lamjung Himal (6983m), etc.

Then, we will trek to Dangboche Kharka which lies at the foot of Larlya La. We will continue the walk through dusty gravel road and climb up to the moraine. From here you can see the beautiful junction of Kechakyu, Ponkar, and Suti glacier. After enjoying the beautiful day, we will return back to Bhimthang for the night.

Day 8: Trek from Bhimthang to Dharapani

Kilometers: (24 km)

Trek Duration: 6 hours.

Maximum Altitude: Bhimthang (3720m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Continuing the journey, it is time to descend. We will leave Bhimthang and descend back to Dharapani. It is the last trek of our Manaslu Bhimthang Trek. The trail passes through dense forest, small villages, and hill sides. We will also take a lunch break in between. After 6 to 7 hours of trek, we will reach Dharapani.

Overnight stay in Dharapani.

Day 9:Drive to Besisahar

Kilometers: Dharapani to Besisahar (35 km)

Drive Duration: 3 hours.

Maximum Altitude: Dharapani (1930m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After having breakfast, we will continue to descend our journey. We will have breakfast and drive to Besisahar. The route to Besisahar is not so good in condition. It will be a bumpy ride to Besisahar. Since it is a short drive, you can utilize rest of the time by exploring Besisahar.

Overnight stay in Besisahar.

Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu

Kilometers: Besisahar to Kathmandu (175.8 km)

Drive Duration: 5 to 6 hours.

Maximum Altitude: Besisahar (825m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Here comes an end to our beautiful short trek. After having breakfast, we will pack the bags and leave for Kathmandu. We will be driving to Kathmandu following the same route. The journey is full of beautiful scenes. It will take us 5 to 6 hours to reach Kathmandu.

After arriving in Kathmandu, we will help you get back to the hotel. In the evening we can organize a small get together to share the experience of our beautiful journey. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 11:Final Departure

Here comes the day to say a hard bye to Nepal. Our representative will help you to drive to TIA. He will drop you a few hours before your flight period. We hope you had a great time in Nepal. Hope to be a part of your trek in Nepal again.
