Overview
Manaslu Tsum Valley trek is one of Nepal’s famous and is full of cultural experiences where you will be able to see the sacred sanctuary of Buddhist monasteries and many more. Tsum Valley, also known as Hidden Valley, is a land full of Monasteries and hamlets where the majority of people are from Tibet in the northern part of the Manaslu region.
This area lies on the Nepal- Tibet border, and this area was also one of the restricted zones for trekking until 2008. This region completely falls under Nepal but is heavenly influenced by Tibetan natives. You will observe many culturally mixed people in this region.
Tsum Valley used to be a separate area that did not belong to both Nepal and Tibet. This area is still a virgin and has not been explored by many travelers who choose top adventurous trekking areas but not this one. You will trek into this valley for more than two weeks, where you will be getting closure with the eight highest mountains in the world, which is Mount Manaslu at 8,163m.
This area is geographically and culturally very fascinating where you will have magnificent views of Mountains and dramatic landscapes. You will observe and explore canyons, mysterious Gompas, Tibet culture, and a high pass crossing. As this is the least explored valley, you will see the wild hidden tsum valley with its rich art, culture, and heritage, mountains, traditional villages of the locals, cheerful peoples, mani walls, chortens, and lively festivals of the locals.
You will make a semi-circle trip around the three peaks of Manaslu, where we will visit the Budhi Gandaki, passing the Mu Gompa at 3,700m. From there, we will be able to reach Ganesh Himal, Singri Himal, and Boudha Himal range and cross over Larkya La at 5,106m.
Our journey will start with the drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola, which is the starting point for our trekking journey. We will slowly and steadily walk for 4-7 hours a day by following the bank of Budhi Gandaki and crossing many rivers, and coming across many suspension bridges on our way. We will also get beautiful views of snow-capped Mountains and trek through many Buddhist retreats, Tibetan communities, traditional local villages, and many more.

Our representative will be waiting for you at the Tribhuwan International Airport before your arrival. He will help you with your luggage and transfer you to the hotel. You can relax and have time for yourself, or if you want, you can also roam around the jam-packed city of Kathmandu, where there are narrow streets full of gift shops and many others. You will see many temples, Stupas, and Tourists on the roads.

Today you will explore the two most popular and famous places of Kathmandu valley, i.e., Pasupatinath Temple and Bouddha Nath Stupa.
Boudhanath stupa is located at the heart of the city and is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites making it one of the most imposing landmarks in Kathmandu. It is also known as one of the largest Stupas in the world.
Pasupatinath is a Hindu sacred and famous religious place that is an incarnation of the Hindu god Shiva as “Lord of the animals.” We will attend the arati at night which is very much famous among people.
At night, our guide will give you a brief description of the trek we will be taking tomorrow.

After morning breakfast at Kathmandu, we will drive to the western side of Nepal through Kathmandu and Pokhara Highways. The drive will turn towards the hilltop village of Dhading, from where you will see beautiful villages and amazing landscapes of different places. We will pass through local communities with small towns, green terraced fields, with local lush hillsides.
This is the starting point of our trek, where we will leave behind Soti Khola after having morning breakfast and head towards Macche Khola. We will begin our trek with many ascending and descending through a varied landscape where we will come across dense forests and many cultivated fields.
We will notice rice paddies, cliff ridge, White Water River, suspension bridges, and many small amazing waterfalls. You will be mesmerized by the views of flora and fauna on this date. We will continue walking on the river and cross a suspension bridge and finally reach the destination, Maccha Khola Village.

After morning breakfast at Maccha Khola village, we will make our way towards Jagat. To reach Jagat, we will follow the trail that leads up to the river. The route here is narrow with rocky roads where we will have to ascend and descend until we reach Tharo Khola. We will cross this village and reach Khola Besi. After a while of walking, we will reach to hot spring at Tatopani, where we will be taking a rest/
We will climb an uphill ridge crossing the Budi Gandaki on a suspension bridge and climb the staircase and cross many other rivers on our way. After 7 hours of hiking, we will reach the bank of Budhi Gandaki, and after climbing along the ridge we will reach Jagat Village.

Today we will trek to the restricted region of Manaslu and Tsum Valley, which is Lokpa. We will need a trekking permit at the checkpoint in Jagat, which will be managed by the tour guide. We will slowly make our toward Salleri by climbing over a ridge. Coming across the Budhi Gandaki River, we will cross a long suspension bridge there.
Few villagers will be seen during today’s walk when we pass and make our way through Lokpa. Lokpa is a kind of place where animals are not slaughtered and is strictly prohibited. You will also see beautiful views of Himalchuli and Boudha Himal once we reach Lokpa village.

Today we will walk through the lush jungle and notice there are more suspension bridges to cross. Crossing through many suspension bridges, we will make our way toward Chumling. We will hike towards the mystical Buddhist valley. After a hard climb to the top hill, we will finally reach Chumling.

Leaving Chumling village behind, we will make our way toward Chhokangparo, where on our way, we will get beautiful views of Ganesh Himal. Today the routes will steadily ease higher as we pass along the Khola of Shiar.
We will slowly raise our walk toward the largest city in Tsum Valley. We will see the glorious village of Gho, where a small Gomba is built. From this place, we will climb uphill, making our way towards Chhokangparo where we will get beautiful views of Himalchuli.

Today we will have to walk shorter, and the routes are also easy. We will walk towards the Nile by visiting the cave named Milarepa Piren Phu, which falls in our way.
We will notice, the landscape is more fertile and narrower than other routes we have walked as we hike towards upper Tsum Valley. We will arrive at the Milarepa Cave, also known as Pigeon Cave, after we pass through Lamagaon village.
This cave is sacred and is situated on a rugged cliff mountain. We will get great views of valleys from the cave monastery. After exploring this cave for some time, we will start walking and cross a suspension bridge over the River of Shiar. We will again cross another long bridge and reach our final destination.

Today, after having breakfast at the Nile, we will walk along the west bank o the valley, which is very close to the Tibetan border. We will easily reach Mu Gompa in a short period today and hike for only 3-4 hours. We will pass through try landscapes with Trans Himalayan Terrain. We will walk pass through yak pastures and historical monastery which will give us beautiful views of Mountain and houses

Today is the most adventurous day of your trek as you will climb to the highest altitude of your trip. On this day, you will hike to Larkya La Pass, which is situated at 5160m. If it’s snowing, then it can be pretty daring due to bad weather conditions. You need to be early for this trek as you need to cross Larkya La Pass before the afternoon. Do not forget this is the most daring part of your journey, but if you manage to stabilize yourself during the walk, you can successfully cross the Pass.
After you manage to stand at the Pass, you will feel more soothing as you get to observe majestic views, views of Himlung situated at 7126m near Tibet. Not only that, you too get to watch Kang Guru at 6981m and Annapurna II at 7937m in the beautiful range of Annapurna.
When you are done spending your time with the beautiful views at the Pass, you will now move down three hours watching the views of ice blocks and glaciers to Bimthang and stay overnight.
