This biking tour allows you to take in the breathtaking beauty of terraced farmlands on hilly terrain. During this tour, spectacular mountain ranges such as Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Gauri Shankar Himal can be seen. You can also discover about the indigenous Newari culture along the biking tour.

The adventure begins in Kathmandu leading to Bhaktapur, a renowned Newari town adorned with medieval architecture and sculpture. The cycling continues to Nagarkot from here. Nagarkot is also a wonderful place to visit. It is blessed with exquisite natural beauty as well as the country’s captivating Himalayan scenery. From this vantage point, you can see mesmerizing sunrise view over the Himalayas.

As you continue on your bike ride to Dhulikhel, you will be rewarded with spectacular Himalayan scenery. You reach the Buddhist sacred site, Namo Buddha, as you cycle further away from Dhulikhel. Namo Buddha is a culturally and religiously significant location for Buddhist followers. Buddha is said to have given up his life for the tigress and her dying cubs at Namobuddha. As a result, there is a stone statue of Mahasattva (an incarnation of Buddha) in the stupa. After returning to Kathmandu, the mountain riding adventure comes to an end.

Day 1Ride from Kathmandu-Bhaktapur-Nagarkot

Distance: 30 Km

The mountain biking begins briefly after an early breakfast in Kathmandu riding east to the historic city of Bhaktapur.

Bhaktapur is an old town influenced by the native Newari culture. There are many splendid structures in the core of the town with numerous temples with religious significance crafted with wonderful architecture on stones and wood.

After spending some time, you’ll bike north to the hilltop of Nagarkot over a steep trail. As you travel up the trail, you will be rewarded with a serene environment surrounded by verdant terrains.  Mount Everest, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri may be seen from Nagarkot on a clear day.

Overnight in Nagarkot.

Day 2Ride from Nagarkot-Namobuddha-Dhulikhel

Distance: 35 Km

Accommodation: Hotel

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Wake up early. Behold the enthralling sunrise view over the mountains from the Nagarkot viewpoint.

You will bike down the hill from Nagarkot top to a few Newari villages after a delicious breakfast. After cycling for a while, rising and dropping a little hill through a dirt trail leads to Dhulikhel, before arriving at Namo Buddha, a sacred Buddhist shrine. According to mythology, it was here that Buddha fed his flesh to starving tigers as an offering in a former life. Soon enough, you’ll be back in Dhulikhel, following the pitch and gravel roads while taking in the beautiful scenery.

Day 3Ride from Dhulikhel-Bhaktapur-Kathmandu

Distance: 32 Km

Accommodation: Hotel

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

It’s time to depart Dhulikhel today. On the route, you can stop for a brief tour in Bhaktapur. As you return to Kathmandu on roads and tracks, the routes are generally downhill. Hence, the journey comes to an end.
