Pikey Peak Trek Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Maximum Altitude: 1,350m/4,428 ft.

Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, warmly welcomes you!

Our agents will greet you upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Likewise, our crew will welcome you to Nepal by placing “Tika and Mala” at the airport.

We will transfer you to the hotel in Kathmandu. You can take a rest in your room.

After a while, one of our representatives will know if you would like to see some nearby locations. Then, we will take you to Thamel, one of the most important tourist places in Nepal.  When you return from the Thamel region, we will inform you about the details of the trek to Pikey Peak.

You will stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Sightseeing day in Kathmandu

Trip duration: A whole day (Around 9 hours)

Maximum Altitude: Kathmandu (1350m/4428ft)

Meals: Breakfast

You would have had an extra day in Kathmandu before moving toward the Everest base camp trek. Enjoy your day by doing anything you want. A day will suffice to visit some of Kathmandu’s famous heritage sites, restaurants. WE will be taking you to visit Pashupati Nath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa. You could buy personal trekking gear like medication, Trekking shorts, Sunscreen, trekking axes, duffle bags on the way back to hotel.

You will stay overnight in the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive to from Kathmandu to Dhap

Kilometers: Kathmandu – Dhap (230km)

Trip duration: 6-7 hrs

Maximum Altitude: Dhap (2800m / 9186.35)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

After breakfast, you will be heading to Dhap from Kathmandu. The driving duration will be of 6-7 hours.

Dhap is a tiny village on the lower Solu Khumbu, an accessible tour viewing the Everest Mountain and the beginning of the Pikey Peak Hike. You will be driving through the Sunkoshi River and will reach ghurmi.

The journey east of Kathmandu is relatively easy and is an overland journey. You will see lovely hillsides, rivers, woods, and fields landscaping. As you will reach Dhap, you will observe the villager’s lifestyle here.

You will stay overnight in Dhap.

Day 04: Trek from Dhap to Jharpe

Kilometers: Dhap – Jhapre (5 km)

Trek duration: 4-5 hrs.

Maximum Altitude: Japre (2920m / 9580.05ft)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 From Dhap today, we will be heading toward the Jharpe early in the morning after breakfast. The trek will continue be for 4-5 hours.

To get to Sign, you’ll travel along the dry pathways. The trail then changes towards Jhapre on a lumpy, rugged track. Today, you will get an excellent chance to witness the Mount Everest speculator and the Nimbur Himal.

You will stay overnight in the Jhapre.

Day 5: Day 05: Trek to Pikey Base Camp

Kilometers: Jhapre – Pikey Base Camp (6km)

Trek duration: 6 -7 hrs.

Maximum Altitude: Pikey base Camp (3640m / 11942.24 ft)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Finally, today our destination will be Pikey base Camp. We will leave jhapre early in the morning after we finish breakfast. Today we will be hiking for around 6-7 hours.

You begin on a dusty trail that leads to an upward track to Bhulbule. The path becomes steeper as you pass through rhododendron forests on your way to Lhamuje. Lhamje is a tiny village in this location. Throughout the journey, you will be able to witness the panoramic views of the mountains.

You will stay overnight in the Pikey Base Camp.

Day 6: Trek from Pikey Base Camp to Junbesi via Pikey Peak

Kilometers: 5-6 km

Trek duration: 6 hrs.

Maximum Altitude: Pikey Peak (4065m / 13336.61ft)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 Early morning you will hike through the steep rocky ridgeline leading towards Pikey Peak. From here you can view the magical sunrise over various mountains – Mt. Everest, Thamserku, Khatang, Manaslu, Number Chuli, Langtang, and more. After enjoying this view, the trail descends to Junbesi.

The route passes through mani walls and chortens. After reaching Junbesi, you can visit the monastery in the village which gives a beautiful view of Numbur Himal. Overnight stay in Junbesi.

Day 7: Explore Junbesi and visit Thupten Chholing Gumba

Kilometers: 4-5 km

Trek duration: 4 hrs.

Maximum Altitude: Thupten Chholing Gumba (2920m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today you will acclimatize in Junbesi. After having breakfast, the trail heads to explore the village. Firstly, we will hike upwards to Thute Chholing Gumba. The trail goes uphill by the Junbesi Khola. Reaching the gumba gives you a cultural feel; it reflects the ancient traditions and religion.

Then we will return back to Junbesi village and explore the nearby places of the village. Overnight stay in Junbesi.

Day 8: Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu

Kilometers: 4-5 km

Trek duration: 4 hrs.

Maximum Altitude: Phaplu (2380m)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Leaving Junbesi we will come to an end of the journey and trek to Phaplu. The trail descends along with the Junbesi Khola and then crosses a suspension bridge. After you cross the bridge, you will reach Beni Ghat. Continuing the walk along with scenic views, you will reach Phaplu. Here is a bye to the Rolwaling Region.

Overnight stay in Phaplu.

Day 9:Drive Back to Kathmandu

Kilometers:  Phaplu – Kathmandu (269.7km)

Trip duration: 8 hrs.

Maximum Altitude: Phaplu (2380m)

Meals: Dinner

 Today you will be returning to Kathmandu from thePhaplu. After having breakfast, we will take you to Kathmandu. The driving duration will be of 8 hours. We will provide you with your meals in the route. You will pass through the Charikot while returning to Kathmandu.

As you reach Kathmandu, we will transfer you to the hotel. After the long day of travel, you can take a shower and take a rest in your room. We will provide you with a farewell dinner in the evening on the behalf of our agency.

Day 10:Departure

Meals: Breakfast

Before the departure flight, our representative will transfer you to the Tribhuvan International Airport. Remember to buy gifts and souvenirs for your family as a memento of your trip to Nepal.
