Rara lake is an alluring lake of Nepal defining the paradise on the planet. It is situated in the Mugu district of western Nepal, known as the biggest lake in Nepal. The lake resides at an altitude of 2,990 m from sea level. Various hills and lush forests surround the lake enhancing its beauty. In addition, the color change in the lake is the most incredible thing.

The trip to Rara lake is a great way to explore the wilderness. Since the lake lies in the region of Rara National Park, you get to observe different species of animals, plants, and insects. The park was established to conserve the flora and fauna of the Humla-Jumla region.

Nepal Mountain Adventure presents the Rara Lake Jeep Tour for an exciting and enjoyable trip taking you to the off-beat roads of western Nepal. This off-road trip is exhausting yet picturesque at the same time. Riding on a bumpy road while experiencing the body shake and witnessing the astonishing view from the window is more than expected. Moreover, this package is designed for those bound by time who do not want to trek.

The Jeep tour to Rara Lake initiates from Kathmandu with a 12 hours drive to Kohalpur. The perspectives on lush hills, woodlands, rivers, charming settlements, etc., dazzles your eyes. On continuing the road trip, the drive leads to Manma while passing through Surkhet. From this point, you’ll head for Nagma valley after traversing Sinja valley. The roads connecting the path from Nagma valley to Rara lake are rugged and uneven. So, the jeep ride can be thrilling and exhausting until you arrive at Rara Lake.

Traveling to the Rara lake was difficult due to the lack of infrastructure of roads back in the day. The flight was the only option to get there. However, it takes 2 to 3 hours to hike to get to the lake from the airport. Local and foreign travelers had to hike for 1-2 days and adjust with budget accommodation. In recent years, it has become a bit easy to visit Rara.
