The Tamang Heritage Trek provides you with an opportunity to get closer to the traditions and cultures of the Tamang community of Nepal. Along with that, the trek offers you a majestic view of the Ganesh Himal, Gosaikunda Range, and Langtang range. You can also see the cultures in this region have been highly influenced by the Tibetan culture. The trek lies towards the north of Kathmandu valley. This trek is perfect for those trekkers who love to explore rich varieties of culture along with scenic and beautiful nature. Since the trek is short so people who have less time in Nepal can also join this trek as well as a new beginners can also join this journey.
The Tamang Heritage Trek begins with sightseeing at the UNESCO-listed sites of Kathmandu valley. The next day is a drive to Syabrubesi and then a hike to Gatlang (a Tamang village). From Gatlang you will be heading towards the natural hot spring – Tatopani. Leaving Tatopani, the trail heads towards Nagthali which is a bit challenging route. Then you will head toward Thuman and hike to Kalotuppo for the splendid view of mountain ranges. From Thuman, you will descend back to Syabrubesi and drive to Kathmandu. The maximum altitude of the trek will be Kalotuppo (4705m).

Welcome to Kathmandu!
As you land at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcome by our representatives in the airport in the proper Nepali culture of Putting Tika and Mala. You will be transferred to your hotel room from the airport.
You can take a shower and also take rest for a while. Today you can visit a different place in Kathmandu. You can see the Thamel area or the Asan area, which is one of the tourist destinations of Nepal as well are the most crowded place in Nepal. Here you can shop for different clothes or ani handicrafts.
In the evening, we will provide you with a delightful welcome dinner. After the dinner, you will meet our guide, who will give you all the Trek descriptions of the Tamang Heritage trek of the Langtang region.
You will stay overnight in Kathmandu.

After having breakfast, we will start to explore the sites of Kathmandu valley. As per our itinerary today, you will be visiting the UNESCO world heritage site located inside the valley. At first, we will be visiting the Pasupatinath temple.
Our representative will be at your place in the early morning and take you to the Pasupatinath temple first. Then he will take you to the Bouddhanath temple. You can enjoy the local varieties of cuisines while the trip. We will also discuss the trekking routes over dinner. Overnight stay in the hotel in Kathmandu.

Today is the day to begin the journey; we will start off the journey with a drive to Syabrubesi. Heading out through Kalanki, the journey wind towards Trishuli Bazaar. Passing from here, you will start to get the views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, etc. The roads are bumpy and deteriorate after crossing the Trishuli.
Finally, after 7 hours you will reach Syabrubesi. Overnight stay in a tea house of Syabrubesi.

Maximum Altitude: Gatlang (2270m/ 7742ft)

After having breakfast, we will commence the trek and head towards Gatlang. We will start with a 2 hour of ascent which takes us to the vantage point. From here you will be able to view the Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. The trail passes through many mani walls and Chortens. After a few minutes of ascending, you will reach Goljung (Tamang Village) and have a lunch break.
Trekking for almost 3 hours from here will take you to Gatlang which is a Tamang village. Here you can visit the ancient monastery and Parvati Kunda (lake). You will start to experience unique Tamang culture from here. Overnight stay in a teahouse in Gatlang.

After having breakfast, you should get ready for the trek. Today is a bit strenuous journey with pleasant views on its side. The trail descends gradually along the ridge to Bamdang Khola. Then you will cross a suspension bridge over Chilime Khola and climb to Gongang village and have a lunch break.
Then the trail continues with a steep climb and 2 hours strenuous ascend to Tatopani. After reaching Tatopani, you can enjoy the natural hot spring and rest around. Overnight stay in a tea house in Tatopani.

Maximum Altitude: Nagthali (3165m)

Leaving Tatopani, the trail heads toward Nagthali. The route passes through a beautiful rhododendron forest. You will also be able to see the groups of gray Langur monkeys hanging around the vines and moss trees. The trail passes through the village of Brimdang and directs towards the steepest part of the trek. Crossing the ridge gives you a majestic view of Langtang range on the east and Ganesh Himal to the west.
Then the route opens to the grassland of Nagthali Hill. This place offers you great scenic views. Overnight stay in Nagthali.

We will go for an early morning hike to Kalotuppo for the mesmerizing sunrise view. A few hours of trek will take us to Kalotuppo where you can experience the magical sunrise over the Himalayas. Spending a few times watching sunrise view, we will return back to Nagthali and then direct towards Thuman.
The trail descends through deep woodlands and reaches Thuman. You can see that the village is quite influenced by Tibetan cultures and house designs. Overnight stay in a tea house in Thuman.

Today is the last day of the trek; leaving Tuman we will direct the journey towards Syabrubesi. We will descend the trail following the beautiful forest. Giving farewell to mesmerizing mountain views, our trail goes to Syabrubesi. After trekking for 3 to 4 hours, we will reach Syabrubesi.
Overnight stay in Syabrubesi.

After having breakfast at Syabrubesi, we will drive back to Kathmandu. Ending the trek we will head towards Kathmandu. We will return back following the same route as before. It will take us around 6 hours to reach Kathmandu. After arriving in Kathmandu, we will drop you at the hotel. You can get freshened up and rest for the evening or do a quick shopping in the Thamel area.
We will organize a warm farewell dinner for you. Overnight stay in the hotel in Kathmandu.

Finally comes the day to give a farewell to Nepal. Our representative will drive you to the TIA at your scheduled flight time. You can contact us for any other plans in Nepal; we are always at your service. Have a safe journey.
Langtang Trekking Regional Map (Day And Some Places Will Be Different On Map)
Tamang Heritage Trek is moderate in difficulty. You won’t be crossing 5000 meters so you have fewer chances of altitude sickness. And the trekking hours are also average so the trek is not highly challenging.
Yes, you can get connected to WiFi services in most of the tea houses. The connection might not be strong due to geographical location but you can use it.
Yes, there is enough tea houses and accommodations in this route but if you are trekking in the main seasons then you will have to do pre-booking. The accommodations are fully packed during the season time.
Yes, you will require the Langtang National Park Permit and Trekkers Information Management System Permit (TIMS) to complete this trek. The travel agency will help you to issue these permits.
Yes, you will need the Nepali currency in cash during the trek. Since the region is not so well developed so online payments and cards cannot be used there. So you need to carry cash with you.
